The Frankfurt-based, long-established company is moving itself into a strong market position with its new location for the roofing specialist: Anton Schneider 5. In Frankfurt-Schwanheim, the ground-breaking ceremony for its new specialist roofing dealers was conducted and thus the company’s specialization in this market segment was driven forward.
Over the next few months, the specialist location AS5. “Roof” will be constructed on 8,000 square metres of land, only 300 m as the crow flies from the main headquarters on the Ingelheimer Straße.
“We’ve fought for this for many years,” said Jonni Rieken and Michael Weber, the Managing Directors of Anton Schneider 5., on the day of the ground-breaking ceremony. “Waiting for this to relieve the strain on our headquarters has now paid off.” After years of negotiations with the City of Frankfurt, the EUROBAUSTOFF partner finally managed to purchase the premises of the former Schwanheim sewage works. There is indeed a plausible explanation for choosing this location in particular. “The close proximity to our headquarters and of course the excellent transport connections to all directions of the Rhine-Main area. Moreover, the company is at home here,” explains Michael Weber.
By the beginning of next year, a 4,600-m² warehouse with more than 6,000 pallet storage spaces, picking, loading and unloading zones will be built on the new site. This will be supplemented by an administrative building including a 300m2 specialized retail market focussing on the sale of roof supplies, a promotion area and a seminar room. The total cost of this project amounts to several million EUR.
“With this new construction, we wish to emit the following signal: Anton Schneider 5. is the expert in roofing and therefore the first point of contact for roofers in the Rhine-Main area.” Jonni Rieken and Michael Weber see sufficient potential for the business in this field. On the one hand, a basis for AS 5. has already been laid at the old location, and has personnel experienced in the sector at its disposal. On the other hand, the business relies on its good contacts in structural engineering and the resulting synergy effects for the roof market segment. The roof experts from the Ingelheimer Straße will move to the new location and will be supported by new employees and trainees.
The main headquarters will benefit particularly from the relocation of the roofing sector, as then about 2,000 m2 of hall area will become available and the overburdened and cramped warehouse will be significantly relieved of strain. “At the main headquarters, targeted logistical optimization processes, necessary modernization measures and the expansion of the already existing specialist product range will be carried out. However, the private customer business will also be intensified”, said Michael Weber optimistically. He regards the AS 5. company as being well-positioned for the future.
Foot on the spade and ready, steady, go!
